About
Twenty years of being the IT department for companies that don't have one.
No acquisitions, no rebrands, no private-equity roll-up. The same firm doing the same work since 2005.
Our story
It started as a gap nobody was serving.
IndSource was founded in 2005 by two partners who kept running into the same thing: the technical depth that large corporations treated as ordinary was effectively out of reach for everyone smaller. Not because the work was different — because the delivery model didn't exist at that size.
A 60-person company has the same problems a 6,000-person company has. The same ransomware finds it. The same customers send it the same security questionnaire. The same regulations apply. What it doesn't have is a security team, a systems architect, and a CIO to hand them to.
So we built the firm that supplies those roles by the month instead of by the salary. 21 years later that's still the whole idea, and it has held up better than most things in this industry — including a fair number of the providers who were around when we started.
Enterprise capability. Small-company economics. That's the entire pitch.
How we work
Three commitments, and they're all uncomfortable ones.
Values pages are usually a list of words nobody would argue with. These are the ones that occasionally cost us money.
Say the true thing
Including when it costs us the sale. If your hardware has three good years left, if the migration isn't worth it, if the problem is a process rather than a product — you'll hear that. Providers who only ever agree with you are selling something.
Own the outcome
Not the ticket. Closing a ticket and solving a problem are different things, and the gap between them is where most IT relationships quietly fail. If it's still broken, it's still ours.
Stay past the invoice
The interesting work in IT is never the installation, it's year three — when the thing you built meets a business that's changed. Several of our relationships are old enough to have been through that more than once.
Fit
Who we're good for — and who we're not.
A good fit
- Roughly 25 to 250 people, with real operational dependence on your systems
- No internal IT, or one stretched person who needs the load taken off
- Customers, insurers, or regulators asking security questions you can't fully answer
- Somewhere in a cloud migration, or overdue to plan one
- A process held together by a spreadsheet and one person's memory
Probably not
- Under about 10 people — the overhead of a managed relationship won't pay for itself yet
- Looking for the cheapest hourly rate rather than a standing relationship
- Wanting a vendor to sign off on a decision that's already been made
- Needing deep specialisation in a vertical platform we don't know — we'll refer you
