How this looks in practice
The work we're proudest of is unglamorous: production tracking, job costing, and document handling systems that run a business day to day. Software that operations staff use every shift is a harder test than software that demos well.
Questions we get asked
- Should we build custom or buy off the shelf?
- Buy, almost always. Custom software is worth it when the process is genuinely specific to how you compete, or when the integration cost of a packaged tool exceeds the build. Those are narrower cases than most vendors will admit — including us, which is why we'll say so before you spend anything.
- Where does AI actually help a business our size?
- High-volume, repetitive tasks that need judgment but not much of it — sorting inbound documents, pulling fields out of invoices, classifying and routing requests, drafting first-pass responses. It helps far less with anything requiring accountability for the outcome, because someone still has to own the result.
- What happens after the build?
- We maintain it. Software that nobody owns starts rotting the day it ships, and a custom system with no maintainer becomes exactly the fragile dependency it was meant to replace.
